Sponsoring a Workshop
A sponsored workshop is an organizations event. The sponsoring agency contracts with Michael Walling and Associates, Inc. to present the workshop.
Typically, the sponsor wants a basic workshop, but this can be altered if specific issues are identified, or the audience serves a particular population (i.e. school-to-work transition age, serious mental illness, traumatic head injury).
The basic workshop covers: SUPPLEMENTAL SECURITY INCOME The process of SSI: Eligibility to Termination SSI WORK INCENTIVES Student Earned Income Exclusion Impairment-Related Work Expenses Plan for Achieving Self-Support 1619(b) ELIGIBILITY (MEDICAID) EXPEDITED REINSTATEMENT OF BENEFITS
SOCIAL SECURITY DISABILITY INSURANCE The process of SSDI: Eligibility to Termination SSDI WORK INCENTIVES Subsidy Impairment-Related Work Expenses MEDICARE EXTENDED MEDICARE ELIGIBILITY EXPEDITED REINSTATEMENT OF BENEFITS
TICKET TO WORK PROGRAM (if requested)
WORKING DISABLED MEDICAID (if appropriate for the state)
We ask the audience be limited to 75 or less. If the audience is more than 45 people the speaker will require a lapel microphone.
The sponsoring organization is responsible for advertisement and handles all registration procedures. We supply a master copy of the training materials for duplication by the sponsoring agency. It is not uncommon for organizations to sponsor a workshop and charge other organizations a registration fee to attend. Thus, they cover their costs to train their staff and customers.
We require a minimum of 90 days to schedule a sponsored workshop. We try to avoid travel in the northern states between October 30th and March 31st.
The cost of a sponsored workshop is dependent on the trainers itinerary. We prefer to schedule a sponsored workshop when the trainer is scheduled to be in the area. The fee quoted is a flat fee, which includes traveling, lodging, etc. The fee is reduced 25% during the month of December and early January.
